The Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq. has expressed his appreciation for the level of developmental projects embarked upon by the National Water Resources Institute, Kaduna, in the last few years despite the meagre budgetary allocation available at the disposal of the Institute
The Minister of State made this commendation on Tuesday, 24th October 2023, during his familiarization tour of the Institute aimed at assessing all ongoing projects, programmes, and challenges of the Institute in Kaduna, Kaduna State.
During the inspection of the already completed and on going projects at the Institute, he emphasized the Federal Government's vision at strengthening the operations of the Institute in order to enhance its capacity and secure adequate funding in ensuring that the 'Food Security Agenda' and 'Renewed Hope Mandate' of the present Administration is fulfilled.
Goronyo particularly expressed his appreciation to the Director General, Prof. Emmanuel Ada Adanu, for the management skill employed at transforming the Institute to such an enviable state, noting that the monumental achievements by the Institute despite the meagre resources available was worthy of commendation.
He called on the management of the Institute to align its vision with the overall mandate of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation which amongst others; is to provide sustainable access to safe and sufficient water to meet the
social-economic needs of all Nigerians through efficient water resources management for basic needs, irrigated agriculture , hydro power generation, national food security, and promotion of healthy population.
Muhammad Goronyo while emphasizing the significant need for the employment of the teaming youths by the Institute to enhance the actualization of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu 'Food Security Agenda', urged the Institute to synergize with the Hadejia-Jama'are River Basin Development Authority, Chad Basin Development Authority and others to collaborate in the area of Staff training and other beneficial interests.
He explained that in this way, the youth/staff of the RBDAs will avail themselves of the opportunity to benefit from the window of sustainable environment created to seek enduring knowledge by the federal government.
The Director General of the Institute, Prof. Emmanuel Ada Adanu expressed the appreciation of the entire Staff and Management team of the Institute to the Honourable Minister of State, and revealed the urgent need of the Institute for youth employment and manpower to fill the existing vacancies in the Institute.
He regretted the Institute inability to carry out the employment processes due to meagre budgetary allocation and the administrative bottle-neck experienced to secure approval for the process and called on the Minister of State to intervene in this regard.
The Minister of State, accompanied by some Senior Management Staff of his Ministry and the Institute, inspected the NWRI Library, Water Quality Laboratory, Engr. Suleiman Adamu- Hydraulic Centre, Soghahi Model Farm- Hydroponic Centre, Electro - Mechanic Workshop, Ground Museum, Dr. Musa W. Ibrahim Lecture Theatre - 100 Seater and the 50 bed rooms students apartments respectively.
During the official visit the Minister and his entourage pay a condolence visit to the HRH the Emir Of Zazzau over the demise of his brother Who is also the Nigeria's Ambassador to Morocco (The Magajin Garin Zazzau, Ambassador Mansur Nuhu Bamali.) Passaway last week as he is since buried according to Islamic injuctions.
In another development, Minister Bello Goronyo was hosted to a congratulatory dinner/reception organized by the Arewa Consultative & Synergy Congress (ACSC) under the Leadership of Engr Dr. Haris HM. Jibril for his appointment as the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
During a symbolic ceremony,the presentation of honorary 'Symbol of Recognition Award' to the Minister, the convener appreciates the honorable minister for his untiring efforts in representing the youths at any given capacity and further encourage him to keep the good work with utmost sincerity and dedication as he has started this journey assuring him the sky is just the springing board inshaAllah.
The honourable minister was eliated and thrilled whilst thanking the chairman/Convener Engr Dr. Harris jibril and his team for this memorable occasion, he used the opportunity to buttressed on the current policies and programs of Mr. President Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu. He further emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda is all about youth engagement and empowerment. He therefore enjoined the youths to take advantage of the government programs and also be worthy ambassadors.
On the Honourable Minister of State' entourage were some Senior Officials of the Ministry, Managing Director, Hadejia-Jama'are River Basin Development Authority, Ma'amun Da'u Aliyu, Kaduna State RUWASSA MD, and other eminent personalities.
The reception ended with colorful and with the presentation of the Organizations highest ACSC- Symbol Of Recognition and endorsement.
