One hundred million dollar has been set aside for the revitalization of poor communities within four metropolitan Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The Director, Kaduna State Revitalization and Reintegration Infrastructure Project, KARRIP, Professor Racheal Okoeguale, disclosed this during the commissioning of the Project office in Kaduna.
The Kaduna State Revitalization and Reintegration Infrastructure Project KARRIP, a six year Programme that will be funded by an international donor is targeted at uplifting the lives of Urban-Slum settlers through improving their lifestyle in the area of healthcare, education and social infrastructure.
Speaking shortly after commissioning the project's office in Kaduna, the Project Director, Professor Rachael Okoeguale, said the project which will kickstart in Malali and Danbushiya communities will support Governor Uba Sani led administration's Seven-Point Agenda that are geared towards improving the lives of citizens.
Professor Okoeguale appealed to the donor communities, governments and corporate organizations to give the programme all the necessary support so as to achieve the desired result.
Also speaking, the State Project Coordinator of KARRIP, Architect Sani Abbas explained that, the project which is designed to bridge the development gap between the rich and urban poor, aims to raise the living standard of the Kaduna residents to international standards by eighty percent in the next three years.
Architect Abbas explained that the project will focus on the four metropolitan Local Governments of Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun and parts of Igabi, where communities like Malali Badarawa, Kwaru, Kakuri, Romi, Mando and Kawo among other communities will serve as beneficiaries.
