The promotion of the former Kano state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Hussaini Gumel to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG) has been described as a welcomed development.
Former Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students Kano State, Comrade Ismail Ahmad Maishinkafa, who made the commendation in a statement, said the appointment of Mohammed Hussaini Gumel is a testament to his dedication, sterling qualities and outstanding performance in Kano State.
Ismail Maishinkafa said that his rare capacity as a dedicated and descent Police Principal Officer, strongly qualified him for the office of Assistant Inspector General of Police.
He added that the former Kano State Commissioner of Police has the requisite experience, years of dedicated service, and sound academic certification for the new role.
Comrade Maishinkafa further stated that the former CP has an outstanding understanding of security and intelligence, which has aided in curbing political thuggery, phone snatching, and other social vices in Kano State.
This has given him a proven track record and competency as a civilized police officer with expertise and the needed understanding of human rights, and has taken decisive measures to ensure police personnel carry out their duties within the ambit of the rule of law.
Comrade Ismail Ahmad Maishinkafa, therefore congratulates and wishes him success in his promotion, which demands more of his experiences, expertise and commitment to serving the good people of Nigeria to the best of his knowledge and ability.
