Boat with over 35 onboard capsizes on River Rima in Wamakko

A Boat with more than Thirty Five Persons onboard has capsized on River Rima along Dundaye Axis in Wamakko Local Government Area.

One dead Body has so far been recovered while nearly Fifteen of the Victims made it to the Shore.

Head of Operations National Emergency Management Agency Sokoto Operations Office Aliyu Shehu Kafidangi, Special Adviser Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency Nasiru Garba and Red Cross have already visited the scene to profile Data of the victims. 

Some of the Victims and Eye witness account disclose that, the Canoe overturned due to overloading.

The Boat Occupants comprising Elderly, Women, Children and Youths were crossing the River to their Farms.

NEMA Search and Rescue Team and Local Divers are currently searching for the missing Persons.
