José Mourinho has once again made headlines, this time launching a fiery tirade against UEFA following a series of contentious decisions in his team’s latest European outing.

“I hope everything that’s happened to me in European competitions is not a consequence of the Budapest final,” Mourinho said, referencing Roma’s Europa League final defeat. “I really hope it’s just random.”

Still clearly frustrated, the Portuguese manager highlighted what he believes has been a pattern of injustice ever since that match.

“Since that final, since my suspension… the things that have happened to us—like missing out on the Champions League due to a 120th-minute penalty that only the fourth official saw—it’s unbelievable.”

He didn’t hold back on his criticism of VAR either, “Today we play, and VAR—one of the best, they say—missed one of three clear penalties. It’s difficult to accept.”

Mourinho ended his rant on a hopeful note, saying, “I just hope it’s random. I’ve paid for my suspension, and I pray that it’s over. I told my players, there’s no better place to play football than in the UK.”
